From Dr. J. Anderson
Excellent! This discussion helped me understand the problem AS A RESULT of being shown the technique(s) used to solve the problem. The process was truly enlightening for me.

I like the concept of "transfer of responsibility" from teacher to student. {If the eacher asks the question and the student's task is to find the answer, part of the "research" is skipped over. Along this line, I could see that the student develops by thinking of or identifying the question to be answered. Then the student searches for and eventually identifies the answer to the question. This is what the researcher does! Thus the student-as-test-passer becomes student-as-researcher, by developing and definkng the research question(s). And who knows where THAT will lead?

I am looking forward to reading more and learning more.
